Community Missions

Helping Hands Clothes Closet

The Helping Hands Clothes Closet is a cooperative effort of the Timberlake Area Churches, and is located in the house next door to Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Various TCC members volunteer to sort donated clothes and work with clients who come looking for clothes for themselves and their families. Clothes are given away, and TCC and the other participating congregations provide the financial support to keep this long-standing ministry in operation.

TEAM Food Pantry

Timberlake Christian Church is one of the congregations which sponsors the TEAM Food Pantry. Our members regularly donate food, and every sixth week we are the church “on call” to help clients. Both staples and fresh food are given to those in need, and Timberlake Christian Church makes a regular financial contribution to keep the food pantry in operation. Hundreds of individuals and families are served every year.

Habitat for Humanity

Over the years Timberlake Christian Church has helped provide a new home for a number of families in partnership with Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity, various area churches, and Lynchburg College. Timberlake Christian Church is also a regular financial contributor, and we make our facilities available for groups from out of town who come to Lynchburg to work with Habitat. For more information, visit Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity.

Piedmont Community Impact

Piedmont Community Impact Organization was founded over 17 years ago, with TCC being one of the founding member churches. It now serves Campbell County and the surrounding communities through the Piedmont Center, which offers services for children and youth, as well as senior citizens. One of the main ways TCC serves at PCIO is through their backpack food program. Volunteers go one a week to pack bags of food that are given to children who are on the reduced or free lunch program at their school so that those children have food over the weekend. For more information, visit PCIO.

Lynchburg Daily Bread

For over 34 years, Lynchburg Daily Bread has been serving those in need in Lynchburg with a hot, daily lunch. Everyone who comes in the door at Daily Bread is given food, no questions asked. At TCC, we have been serving at Daily Bread for many years. Recently, we got on a regular schedule. On the first and third Fridays of every month, you will find a group of dedicated people from TCC cooking up and serving food down at Daily Bread. For more information, visit Lynchburg Daily Bread.
